I found out my score on one of the three tests I took last week, and the class average on the test was 51.
Yes, in engineering it is quite common for scores to be in the mid-range or less. In fact, I've heard from several of my professors that they actually AIM for 50% on tests. Which makes me ask, WHY in the world would anyone not want their students to succeed?? That's the feeling I get from it all anyway. And I had another teacher say that your score doesn't really matter, all that matters is where you fall in the "curve".
Oh that blasted curve. In all of its horrible glory. And yet, it is my savior. Being average has saved my life. As one of my teachers puts it, I and my classmates, "strive on the incompetence of others." Well, go team go as far as I'm concerned.
And I totally got a 55 on the test! How's that for incompetence, Mr. Professor Man?!?!
(Okay, lets not mention the fact that that means I only got half the questions right. Alright, moving on....)
