Update #2

Continuing on in my tale of blogging procrastination...

december 11:
Sometimes, when your life is so crazy, you forget how absolutely fantastic it is to hang out with a girlfriend for awhile. Don't get me wrong, husbands are great, but with girlfriends, you don't have explain anything, and even a trip to the grocery store can be just as good as going out.  When finals were over (and Thomas was still gone at his mom's), it was a huge relief to hang out with my friend Nicole and this beautiful princess:

She was born in November, and yes, she came out with that much hair. Isn't she gorgeous! I don't have any pictures of me and Nicole, but let it be said that she is amazing, and beautiful, and home-makey, and the kind of wife and mom I want to be.  She's awesome.

Also on my little girls night out with Nicole, we hit the local Michael's to check out some stuff, and I came home with this little beauty.

Laugh if you want, but let me explain.  Every year since we've been married, we always buy a Christmas village building that represents our year that year.   The first one we bought was a coffee house because we spent entirely too much money on Starbucks caramel frappacinos that year. :) Yum. The second year was a train station, symbolizing that we were halfway there (1.5 years down, 1.5 years to go until we graduate and get out of here).  This year, I bought this little tent building, symbolizing our time in the trailer and how thankful we were that it would soon be over and we could live in a normal apartment or house.  I really love it, and I'm happy that we're making our own traditions so early.  At this point, it looks like we'll have a pretty good collection of Christmas traditions before we even start having kids! Woohoo!

In addition to hanging out with Nicole, we also had planned this really awesome Luau program for our residents.  However, if I ever need to learn from past experiences, it's this: don't expect many people to show up to a program when you get the worst snow storm yet!

Our spread. We did pulled pork and beef, plus all kinds of fruits and yummy drinks, plus we had Hawaiian music playing and everything.  We had a few residents show up, but this is what stopped most of them.

I thought this was bad, but even looking out my window today, it just got worse over time!
